After reading CCP Zulu's response, I'm just gobsmacked.
Thousands of people stating quite clearly they hate this for its uselessness, their obvious deception, and the wretched direction this points to, not to mention thousand of players protesting in game (ya know, that whole "what players are doing" thing)...and they are happy they sold 52 monocles? Out of hundreds of thousands of players, 52 dweebs paid over a billion in ISK for a completely useless vanity item that will go completely unused and likely unseen by 99.95% of the player community...and they are happy? That's just mind boggling denial on an epic scale.
CQ is wholly useless. It fails to deliver Anything of value, and what's more is that it detracts and detracts from my game experience.
I haven't seen anything this stupid since NGE/CU from SWG. That's saying quite alot.
It pains me greatly to say this: With all the decisions they've made, on top of making the game literally inaccessible to me due to hardware constraints, I've lost all confidence in CCP and cannot see every paying them another dime of my money. In all the years I've been playing MMO's, I've only claimed that about a single company, Sony Online Entertainment. I never in a million years thought I'd ever be saying it about CCP.
I can't say I'm done with them entirely. I can say that based on my experience, their practices and overall direction are not drawing me to them or their game. It's one thing to complain or dislike a single feature or even a few changes with any content/expansion...it is another entirely when the company as a whole shows that they have not only lost sight of what has paid their salaries for the last decade, but insist that they've done the right thing when it is as clear as an un-muddied lake they just dropped a loaf in the punch bowl.
What most players do not realize or accept even when informed is that CCP doesn't have to use player feedback. It's not our game, it's theirs. That's what sucks the most about this...CCP has been one of the few companies that tell their customers that they are a part of the development and decision making process. Other companies have the sack to state otherwise outright. In that, I see a great deal of dishonesty.
I find what they've done and plan to do completely disgraceful, distasteful, dishonest, and ultimately completely unnecessary. As I said before, I have but one option which they really didn't give a choice in (because I literally can't play it anymore on my laptop) and that's to not pay them any more of my money.
Nitpicking and griping about the details, slinging e-turds or giving commentary about what they've done and will do isn't going to solve anything. They've made it abundantly clear that they believe they are going in the right direction. 52 items sold to four hundred something thousand players is all the proof they need. So you go right on ahead, CCP, you go with yo bad self.
There really isn't much more I can say about this whole topic except this: They just lost a customer. They just lost 15 bucks a month. Additionally, they've lost the body of players and the money they pay when they elect to play their game because the guild decides to go there. If they don't care, will simply cannot continue to care and pay them.
You may be happy with your decisions, but we're not. My guild and I have spoken by cancelling our subscriptions.
CCP has Officially jumped the shark.
Thanks for all the fish and monocles.
